How It Works

In a nutshell, how does Box of Books work?

When you sign up for Box of Books, you will receive a box of curated-just-to-you great reads and fun extras each month. Boxes ship out every 4 weeks from sign up date (so if you place your order on the 10th of the month, your ship date will always be within a day or two of the 10th.)

**You can always use The Book Room to request titles for an upcoming box.  

**Or update your customizations by filling out the Update Customization form.

Will my subscription auto-renew?

If you signed up for a recurring subscription, then yes, your credit card will be charged every month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months - whichever option you selected. You will receive a renewal notice via email a few days prior to renewal.

How do I manage my subscription?

You can manage your subscription through your Account Page. If you’d like to keep your subscription active, but skip a month, please email us to request the skip. Requests must be received 24 hours prior to renewal.

Can I pick my books and extras?

You can request specific titles and extras from The Book Room.

What if I don’t like a book or extra in my box?

We try really hard to pick out great reads and quality extras for you, so requests for returns and exchanges are not generally accepted. An integral part of the Box of Books experience is to feel as if you are opening a gift- sometimes you kind of know what it is, but sometimes you don’t- and that’s what makes it so much FUN! However, we do understand that we don’t always get it right and we want you to be happy with your Box of Books experience. If you are displeased with your selection, please message us and we will see what accommodations can be made.

About gift cards…

Did you receive a gift card? This is IMPORTANT! They will only work for non-renewing boxes. If you wish to continue a subscription once the non-renewing order is complete, you just simply need to place a new order and we’ll connect the accounts for you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!

I received a damaged product. What do I do?

Please reach out asap in regards to damaged or missing products. Products and packages leave our facility in proper condition for transport and customer acceptance. However, we also understand accidents do happen during shipment. If you receive a damaged or missing product, please email us within three days of delivery with an image of the damaged title and the package with the mailing label visible. We will either, at Box of Books’ discretion, replace the item with a new one or provide an extra book. These are typically included with your next shipment.

Please note: Sometimes our distributors send us books with visible… flaws… on them. While we weed out the really bad ones, we cannot accept damage claims for slight bends and markings on books.

Now what about the We’ll Read Books Bookstore? How does that work?

Participation - who can participate?

PTAs (Parent-Teacher Associations) are our main focus at the moment. Currently we are in test-mode and are only accepting requests for participation from schools located in Amador County, California. We hope to expand by the 2025-2026 school year. So if you’re interested, please get on our contact list!

When does the PTA receive their funds?

Funds will be distributed on a quarterly basis as follows:

  • August - payout for sales during the months of May, June, July

  • November - payout for sales during the months of August, September, October

  • February - payout for sales during the months of November, December, January

  • May - payout for sales during the months of February, March, April

How much of a sale does the PTA receive?

Box of Books currently gives 25% of each We’ll Read Books Bookstore sale to the PTA. Purchases of Box of Books boxes and subscriptions are not included.

I don’t have a student in school, but want to make a purchase from the We’ll Read Books Bookstore. Does 25% of my order still go to a school’s PTA?

YES! Once we’re out of test-mode, your purchase will go to whichever school you designate. Or you can select ‘Let Box of Books choose.’ Until then, all funds go to SCEPTOR, Sutter Creek Elementary PTA.

How much does Box of Books make off of a sale from We’ll Read Books Bookstore?

Essentially… nothing. We may earn a smidge on some sales to cover the cost of labor, etc. But for us, this is not about making a profit. It’s about helping give our kids the best possible experience at school so they receive a well rounded education and lifelong love of learning.

When will my order ship?

If we currently have stock of the title(s), we will ship the order out within two to three business days. If we need to order the title, it may take an additional week to ship. You will be notified if this is the case.
