About Us
Box of Books began as an extension of an independent bookstore located in the foothills of California.
It is a woman-owned small business.
Box of Books' Mission
Box of Books strives to bring the essence of an independent bookstore directly to your home. We know it's difficult in this busy world to get to a bookstore (and bookstores aren't as plentiful as we used to be), so we want to make it easier for you to get those Great Reads by delivering them to your doorstep!
But what makes us truly unique is that we love to hear from our subscribers- and not just to get a pat on our back for a job well done (though we do enjoy those, too)! Tell us what you think about your latest Box of Books, about your last great read, about a book you would like. Tell us about you! Not only does it help us get to know you as a person, but also helps us be a better curator for you.
Kate Vicari
Fascinated by books from an early age, it's no surprise that Kate's profession has been all about books and sharing them with her peers. She opened a small, indie bookstore called Well Read Books at the age of 23 and loved every minute of it for 15 years.
In 2019, Kate began her family and now has two children which she strives to raise as a mostly stay-at-home mom, operating Box of Books from The Book Room while the kids are at school or grandma’s house.
Her favorite genre is historical fiction, but enjoys exploring all genres. Some of her favorite authors include Kristin Hannah, Susan Meissner, and Pierce Brown.
